Justin Bieber’s Album: Purpose

While finishing up a paper and trying to find some music to stay awake, I stumbled upon Justin Bieber’s new album, Purpose, now available on Spotify and I am seriously impressed. Not that I can say I’m that surprised, since all three of his singles “Where Are U Now,” “Sorry,” and “What Do you Mean?” have been climbing the charts since their release and are regularly rotated on the radio. Listening to Purpose made me remember all the reasons I fell for him in the first place. Despite two years of bizarre behavior, Justin has sincerely decided to make a comeback and this album is evident of his talent.

In contrast to past albums, Justin explained to Billboard that rather than simply following his record label’s advice, he chose to follow his heart and intuition while constructing Purpose. Bieber reveals, “I’m self-expressing with this album — I can’t skip on the moments that were dark, the moments that were happy, the ex-girlfriend stuff. It makes it real, rather than ‘Let’s call up Max Martin to write you a hit song.’ I want my music to be inspiring.”

If you don’t have time to listen to the whole album and already heard his 3 amazing singles I would recommend starting with these 5:

  1. Love Yourself
  2. I’ll Show you
  3. No Pressure (with Big Sean)
  4. Purpose
  5. No Sense
